"Inept" - Staged Reading

Staged Reading of an Original Screenplay by Jessica Raskin

"Inept is a riveting high school drama/thriller that takes place right after the Columbine High School shootings. 17 year old Ben Williams, new to Valley View High School, wears a black trench coat just like the killers did.

"Is he 'one of their kind' or is he merely a sensitive kid targeted by the jocks at school because he's different? Why do Ben's parents make sure he and his 7 year old sister are never alone together? Popular high school girl, Tahryn Rice, starts to fall in love with Ben, but maybe she should listen to her friend Micah, who says her gut tells her Ben is trouble. Is Ben seriously disturbed---or merely Inept."
- Jonny Lewis ("Bill Williams")

I am having a staged reading of the script, fully cast, on:

Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 8pm

The Complex Theater
East Theater
6476 Santa Monica Blvd
Hollywood

IT'S FREE!! ONE NIGHT ONLY, SPACE IS LIMITED!!

After the reading, there will be Q&A and a short reception where you'll get to sample my famous cookies!

I'm trying to get funding for the film because I'd like to get it into pre-production as soon as the WGA strike is over. Fingers crossed that it's over soon! So, if you or someone you know is looking for a highly marketable, low-budget film to produce, PLEASE COME! Seating is limited, so RSVP as soon as possible by replying to:
